Congratulations to Max J, who came 4th in the Year 11 Boys South West Schools Biathlon (1600m run and 200m swim). He performed very well and was only a few seconds off finishing on the podium and qualifying for the national championships. Well done Max!

Freya S passed her Air Law exam at the weekend. This forms part of her private pilot’s licence. She worked her socks off for this and got 87%. Well done Freya!

Harry W and Jacob J represented the school at the South West qualifying round of the British Schools Target Shooting Championship on 8th November. Harry secured first place in the Seniors category (Yrs 11-13), giving him a through to the finals in Cannock, next February.

Jacob J competed in the Intermediate category (Yrs 9-10), with good scores giving him the Silver medal, and enabling him to join Harry at the finals in February next year. This is hugely impressive as Jacob has only just starting training alongside Harry and has learnt a large amount in a short space of time.

Harry has also been awarded the Major Hutchingson Memorial Shoot Trophy for the best Junior Air Rifle Shooter in Somerset, along with medals for the most improved shooter (Gold) and a Bronze in 'Division A' where he’s competing alongside all comers, adults and juniors.
