Meet our Tech Team!

This is our very fabulous Tech Team. Joe M, Arthur EH, Gabriel S, Lawrence F and Edward R are behind the scenes, quite literally running the show, at every assembly. Thank you all! You are incredible.

Year 7 – French cycle badges

Exciting news, for the first time in the 33-year history of our French cycle trip, we have a badge for the trip (pictured above). Year 8 students who participated in the trip last year have been given their badges. Year 7 pupils who participate this year will be given their badges in due course.

If your child is in Year 9, 10 or 11 and came on our French cycle trip and are keen badge collectors, you are welcome to buy a badge for them through Parent Pay (£1.50) – Make sure that you put “French cycle badge” in the notes. I will deliver the badge to them personally.

Jack W of 9 Matrise, competed for Uffculme School in the South-West of England Judo Schools Championship at Kingsley School in Bideford on Sunday. Winning Gold in the Year 8-9, 66+ KG category for the 2nd year in a row! He also achieved Bronze in Year 10–13, 66+ category - competing against a Year 12 World Championship Black Belt contender. Jack is hoping to represent Uffculme at the National Schools Championships in Sheffield in 2026. Congratulations, we are incredibly proud of you.

Lexie K (Year 7) and Poppy D (Year 11) both attend Somerset Ryu Karate Club.
On Sunday 16th November they travelled to Grantham to take part in the JKS National Championships 2025.
Lexie won a bronze medal for Girls age 11-13 Kata.
Poppy won a bronze medal for Girls age 14-15 Kata.
Both have been training extremely hard on the lead up to the competition. Well done to you both for fantastic performances on the day!

Jacob D competed in the UKTA English Open in Guildford on Sunday 9th November. He defended his title, taking the gold medal for sparring in his category again. Congratulations Jacob!

Tom H, one of our NSEA members, took part in the Bicton International 3 day event in the October half term. Having jumped 3 double clears throughout the British eventing season Tom qualified for this event over half term.
Tom was the youngest competitor of the competition, competing against some of the country’s best adult event.
A good dressage and a fantastic strong cross country left Tom in a very good position ahead of day 3’s showjumping. A very unlucky pole cost them a top 10 placing but finishing in the top half of the results is an incredible achievement for somebody of his age.
Congratulations, Tom and The Chairman!
