During May Half Term, Charlie B, Lucas C and Harry S set sail to Europe on Football Tour with Exeter Regional Talent Centre (RTC) U13s Progression Session Squad. Exeter Regional Talent Centre (RTC) is an independent development program in Devon that provides a pathway for youth players into professional academy and semi-professional football.

A newly formed team was selected for the tour opportunity, competing in the Netherlands Juliana Malden Cup, and the Roermond Cup. Each day began with early morning yoga, walking & team talks to prepare for back to back matches over 2 days in scorching 32 degree heat!

Whilst the end result wasn’t quite a trophy take home, the whole team performance was a great demonstration of solid commitment to the game, team work, relentless defense and goal keeping - with no goals conceded on the 2nd day!

A valuable grassroots football experience for these Y8 boys who pushed themselves out of their comfort zone throughout, developing new peer group friendships, and in showing greater depth of focus, learning and achieving in a sport they all enjoy.

Well done Charlie, Harry and Lucas!

We love to celebrate our students’ achievements both in and out of school. Please email us a photo and a brief summary if your child has any extra-curricular achievements you would like featured in the bulletin. Information should be sent to office@uffculmeschool.bep.ac

πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ Athletics Success at Exeter Arena! πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

On the last Thursday before half term, over 30 Uffculme students proudly represented East Devon at the Exeter v East Devon Athletics Meet held at Exeter Arena. The event provided an exciting opportunity for athletes to compete for selection to represent the combined East Devon & Exeter team in the upcoming County Competition.

Our students delivered outstanding performances across the board, demonstrating determination and talent. We are delighted to announce that the following students were selected:

Year 7
β€’ Lochy Johnson

A special mention goes to:
⭐ George H (Year 10) β€“ selected in two events, a fantastic achievement!
⭐ Eliza Walton (Year 8) β€“ selected while competing against older athletes, representing a year above her age group.

A huge congratulations to all who took partβ€”it was a brilliant display of effort and excellence. We look forward to seeing our selected athletes represent East Devon & Exeter at the next stage on the 13th of June!

Uffculme School’s football teams have enjoyed an outstanding season, with strong performances across all year groups highlighting the depth of talent and commitment within the school. Each squad has shown excellent teamwork, resilience, and a desire to improve, which has been reflected not only in match results but also in the consistently high attendance at training sessions.

Several teams have achieved notable success in cup competitions this year. The Year 10 side made an impressive run to the semi-finals of the County Cup, showcasing their quality against strong opposition, while the Year 11 team also reached the semi-final of the Exeter and East Devon Cup.  Year 7 had a fantastic first campaign, narrowly losing in the East Devon Cup final after a closely contested game against Kings School, and Year 8 built on last year’s efforts by progressing further in the County Cup. These achievements are a testament to the hard work of the players and staff, and the school would also like to thank the continued support of staff members outside of the PE department, including Mr Burt and Mr Humphreys, whose contributions have played an important role in the programme’s success.

We are therefore looking for sponsorship towards some new football kits for our younger and older year groups to start the new season with. Please contact Mrs Lyne-Ley at lyne-leyn@uffculmeschool.bep.ac.

As we are nearing the end of year 11 time at school the PE department would like to invite students to donate any footwear including trainers and football boots or any old unwanted PE kit.
