Uffculme School GCSE Results 2024
Uffculme School is incredibly proud to acknowledge the dedication and hard work shown by our students throughout their academic journey. Today’s GCSE examination results reflect the commitment of our students and staff in demonstrating both ambition and perseverance. It is with great pride therefore that we are able to announce that over 81% of students attained a pass grade in both English and Maths with 62% achieving a strong pass or higher in both subjects with approximately 20% of all grades awarded were equivalent to the top grades 7-9.
Our students' achievements in this year's examinations stand as a testament to their courage and resilience as they have worked to complete their GCSEs. It is also important to acknowledge this collective success, but also to recognise the individual growth and progress made by each of our students, both inside the classroom and across their wider curricular endeavours. There have been some exceptional individual achievements across the whole ability range with many students exceeding their challenging target grades. Some of our top performing students this year include; Rebecca Curnow who attained an astonishing eight Grade 9s and one Grade 8; Holly Britton who attained six Grade 9s and four Grade 8s; Joshua James Dayus-Jones who attained six Grade 9s and three Grade 8s and Sam Thurgood who attained five Grade 9s and 3 Grade 8s. There were a number of students who made astonishing progress against the targets set for them, exceeding them by some very wide margins which is extremely hard to do, including Holly Britton, Joe Gillett and Sam Thurgood.
Headteacher, Laura Jenkins, says "Uffculme School prides itself on its legacy of academic excellence. One of the things that makes Uffculme School so very special is the way in which achievement is celebrated and how students support each other, congratulate each other and share in the joy of each other's successes. Our staff have continued to work tirelessly to challenge and support every student in the year group. We have seen this year group thrive under the direction of a dedicated and skilled staff. We could not be prouder of this year group and their excellent set of results which they truly deserve. We are excited to see where the next steps in their journey take them and wish them every success for their futures. We would also like to take this opportunity to thank our parents for their unwavering support.”
Congratulations to all of our Year 11 students on their achievements today. We would like to wish all students the very best in their future ambitions.
