Our 70th Anniversary
The Academic Year 2024/2025 marks the 70th Anniversary of Uffculme School. To celebrate this momentous occasion we have lots of fantastic events and activities planned.
Uffculme School was established in 1954 and opened by RT Hon Heathcoat Amory MP, who later became Chancellor of the Exchequer. Currently celebrating its 70th Anniversary, Uffculme School is built on core values of respect, tolerance and courtesy and the strong relationships between students and staff is testament to that. This ethos has been the building blocks of the school for many years and we are very much aware of the contribution of both previous students and staff that have made this school what it is today.
Here at Uffculme School we like to celebrate the contributions of both our students and staff and what better time than a 70th anniversary to showcase this.
We began our celebrations with a gathering of our previous Head Boys and Girls.
On Wednesday 27th March this year we had the privilege of hosting over 40 previous Head Boys and Girls from Uffculme School. Everyone had wonderful stories to tell of their time here at Uffculme School whether it was from the 1950s or the 2010s.
We kicked off the afternoon with an insightful tour of our school facilities by headteacher, Laura Jenkins. Giving everyone an opportunity to view how the school has changed over the years and re-live some of those happy memories of their time at Uffculme School. This was followed by a group photo of past and present to capture the special moment. Finally the afternoon was concluded with the wonderful Spring Concert, where talented students showcased their musical abilities with all previous Head Boys and Girls as our special guests.
Here are some images and video from the day.
In April this year to commemorate this important occasion we also gathered everyone together for a whole school aerial photo of students and staff.
We must confess that organising over 1200 people into a shape was no easy feat. But we did it!

On Friday 15th November at 6pm in The Venue and Dining Hall we will be celebrating the 70th anniversary of Uffculme School with a grand Anniversary Exhibition. This exhibition will be a special collection of memories through photos, artefacts, and filmed recollections as well as the unveiling of an anniversary book that will be available to purchase. There will be an exhibition of photographs and artefacts to view in the Dining Hall and a film & music performance that will start at 6.30pm in The Venue. This is a formal event and we recommend smart attire.
We look forward to welcoming past and present students, staff, families and friends to celebrate this momentous occasion together. A bar will be available for the purchase of refreshments.
If you would like to attend, please book your tickets on the Eventbrite link below (Maximum 4 tickets per family). Tickets are free but limited due to the size of the Venue.
